The Eagles Try and Love Again Lesson

Tucked away near the finish of Hotel California, which turns 45 this week, is the last song Randy wrote during his tenure with the Eagles, "Effort And Love Again." Today, the vocal is considered a deep runway, merely in 1976, information technology was a hit with contemporary critics, who felt it was the highlight of the anthology. What sets it autonomously from Randy's signature song, "Take It To The Limit," in my opinion, is that it is all Randy. At that place are no Don Henley/Glenn Frey co-credits hither. The lyrics are sweet, pure, and hopeful. Randy may not have had Henley'south English language literature background, but he was able to convey just as much in a unproblematic phrase, such as "Right or wrong, what's done is done, It's only moments that y'all infringe." The song deserved to exist a hitting, only perhaps it'southward all-time that it remained in obscurity and was never overplayed on the radio, like the title track. This way, it tin go on being our little underground. Something nosotros can pull out when people say, "Who's Randy Meisner?" Well, here he is.

Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Randy Meisner, Glenn Frey, Don Felder

"'Try And Love Again' is bassist Randy Meisner'southward only written contribution to Hotel California, and fifty-fifty though it's a far cry from his 'Take It To The Limit,' it'south one of the few typical things on the new LP. Containing elements of folk, country and rock music, it's another semi-bitter love vocal served up in a convincing way. Meisner's vocals, equally always, are perfectly tailored to the lyrical message."
–Daily Record Lord's day (Morristown, NJ), Jan second, 1977

"'Endeavour and Love Over again' is the anthology's almost hopeful, upbeat vocal with Randy Meisner vowing to forget a lost love for a new one."

"Randy Meisner'south 'Try And Dearest Again' is a nicely designed carol with an outwardly romantic theme."

Some critics felt that "Try And Honey Once again" was the only song that represented the Eagles signature sound:

"Traditionally, the Eagles accept come to exist known for fluid, upbeat country with a pinch of stone and a dash roll now and and then. For the dyed-in-the-wool fan, there is plenty of that on the anthology, likewise. "Try And Love Again," and the title cutting, 'Hotel California' are very skilful examples of what has helped the Eagles feather their nest."
–The Times (Shreveport, LA), January 9th, 1977

"At that place are remnants (equally in 'Try And Dearest Again') of the strong atomic number 82 vocals backed by a sweet chorus."
–Green Bay Printing Gazette, January 2nd, 1977

LYRICS:
When you're out there on your own
Where your memories tin find you

Day by day, they slowly fade away

Ooh, the wait was in her optics
You never know what might be establish there
She was dancing right in time
And the moves she made so fine
Like the music that surrounds her

Should I stay or go?
I really wanna know
Would I lose or win?
If I try and beloved again

Oh, oh, oh, oh, gonna endeavour and dear once more
Oh, oh, oh, oh, I'thousand gonna attempt and love again

Information technology's simply moments that yous borrow
But the thoughts will linger of the lady and her song
When the sun comes up tomorrow
